Golf Club Condition Guidelines (Condition Guide)

GOLF2GO evaluates golf club condition by assessing the clubhead, shaft, and grip separately.
This ensures shared understanding between buyers and sellers and allows for clear, consistent product comparison.


Product Condition Levels (Out of 100%)

Brand New (100%)

  • Never used

  • 100% factory new

  • Original seal or plastic fully intact

  • No marks or wear on the clubhead, shaft, or grip


Like New (95–99%)

  • Very lightly used or almost unused

  • May have extremely minor marks that are barely visible

  • Closest condition to brand new among pre-owned items

  • No impact on performance or appearance


Excellent (85–94%)

  • Very light signs of normal use

  • Marks are minimal and hardly noticeable during normal inspection

  • No deep scratches, heavy wear, or damage

  • Performance remains fully intact

  • High-grade pre-owned condition offering a strong balance of quality and value


Good (75–84%)

  • Previously used but well maintained

  • Visible signs of use are more noticeable than the Excellent grade

  • No major defects or structural damage

  • Fully functional and performs to standard golf club expectations


Fair (65–74%)

  • Clear signs of consistent use

  • Cosmetic appearance shows wear consistent with usage and age

  • No impact on structural integrity, strength, or safety

  • Fully playable


Poor (60–64%)

  • Heavily used with noticeable wear in multiple areas

  • Most imperfections are cosmetic

  • Club structure remains intact and playable

  • Suitable for buyers prioritizing value over appearance

Component-Based Evaluation

Clubhead Condition

  • Assessed based on the clubface, edges, and overall surface

  • No cracks, deformation, or structural damage

  • Wear level must be consistent with the stated condition grade


Shaft Condition

  • Shaft must be straight with no cracks, dents, or fractures

  • No bending or imbalance

  • Paint or decal marks are considered normal signs of use


Grip Condition

  • Grip remains usable and intact

  • No tearing or splitting

  • Grip condition is not a primary factor in the overall condition percentage

  • Grip replacement may be recommended if worn, to ensure optimal performance
